Technique Activities and Considerations -The area, people and machines involved must be well known -Times must not be predetermined -Managers must be informed of the observations and participate -Results must be discussed and corrective action for identified problem. Example: 1-Simple Observations a) 75% of work b) 25% of non-work 2- Detailed Observations a) 25% work of 1st importance b) Work of 2nd importance: 15% change of equipment 15% displacements 20% bureaucracy c) 25% do not work The conclusions of the observations will direct where the team's improvement effort and action plan is needed.
