How DESIGN THINKING can be used to generate IMPROVEMENTS in your BUSINESS
Design Thinking brings together different people with different skills to generate problem solving.
WHAT IS DESIGN THINKING? It is a way of thinking to solve complex problems inspired by designers. When designing a product or an idea, designers need to have stimulated creative thinking, freedom of expression and experimentation.
Having easy access to materials such as paper, pens, modeling clay and pictures, facilitates the creation of prototypes and models, turning an idea into reality, a problem into a solution. The pillars of Design Thinking are: EMPATHY - Put yourself in the customer's shoes, with your perspective and perception. COLLABORATION - Attendants, salespeople, designers, engineers, analysts, assistants and even the customer who have a different view of the problems and can contribute and co-create a solution to the problem. EXPERIMENTATION - Experiment with conceptual and functional prototypes before a larger scale production or production.
HOW TO GENERATE IMPROVEMENTS WITH DESIGN THINKING?
Improvements arise with problem solving, applying design thinking is a great strategy to achieve this goal. The Design Thinking phases bring a different approach to problem solving.
PHASES
1- IMMERSION - Immersion to understand the problem with research, interviews and preliminary analysis to generate ideas. With a lot of reflection and observation of the problem generate enough empathy to really feel how the problem affects and is affected by people.
2- INTERPRETATION - In this phase it is time to interpret the data from the surveys and interviews and to explore the maximum visual thought (drawings, images, graphs).
3- IDEATION - Generate divergent ideas, that is, several solutions to the same problem and also convergent (one solution to a problem).
4- EXPERIMENTATION - After comparing the solutions and arriving at an ideal model for the answer to the problem, it is time to try a physical prototype or a model to perfect the ideas before a scale production.
5- EVOLUTION - Implement the solution, review processes and make continuous improvement.
